This subject has come up several times by members of our group so here goes. Although I am not the expert on shooting wildlife (you can tell by my lenses) I know enough to be dangerous. We will discuss the following:

– camera settings
– equipment ie lenses, tripods, misc
– what’s makes for a good wildlife capture
– knowing your subject

We also have a special guest- Russ Burden

Russ Burden is an internationally published photographer. His images have appeared on calendars published by Inner Reflections, Kodak, Audubon, Sierra Club, and National Wildlife. He is a multiple time award winner in the annual Windland Smith Rice International Nature’s Best competition and as a result, many of his photographs have hung in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Russ runs photo safaris to Tanzania every April and September. Russ runs nature photography tours to many locations around the US in the spring, fall and winter. Destinations include White Sands National Monument, Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, Mount Evans in Colorado for dramatic scenery and wildlife, southern Florida to photograph birds, and the Oregon and Northern California coasts.

For years Russ has been writing the Photo Tip of the Week for the renowned Outdoor Photographer website. Russ has two books to his credit – Amphoto’s Complete Guide to Photography and The Best of Nature by Amherst Media.
