Description:

Our Mission
The primary mission of the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Institute is to inspire community and elevate the voices of women through film. The RMWFI is committed to supporting women filmmakers, as well as promoting film as art and education.

We achieve this through four core activities: the annual Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival, Education and Community Engagement, our annual Filmmakers Retreat and two other annual events: Shorts Night in April and Wheel to Reel in August.

The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival is the longest continuous-running women's film festival in North America. It showcases documentary, feature, short and animated films that are thought-provoking and enriching, and that encourage global awareness and personal growth. The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival honors films and filmmakers that present the world as women experience it and that inspire curiosity, educate, entertain, and stimulate conversation.

Our Core Values
Community: The RMWFI creates and inspires community in everything we do.
Diversity: Through film and discussion we present diverse perspectives and ideas that offer new ways of looking at the world.
Curiousity and Enrichment: The RMWFI presents films that are thought-provoking and enriching, that encourage global awareness and personal growth. We honor films and filmmakers that present the world as women experience it and that inspire curiosity, educate, entertain, and stimulate conversation.
