Through a combination of lectures, hands-on learning, and guided practice time, you will develop a graphic designer’s problem-solving sense while building a personal body of work. By creating a variety of projects, you’ll gain an understanding of how to effectively implement professional design tools, creatively solve challenges, and determine which solutions are best for successful design. Each day you’ll learn the most-popular tools and workflows while developing designs to use in the future.

During this course, you will:
-Identify the common themes and tools in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
-Explore core digital design principles, processes and best practices.
-Learn basic typography, design and graphic illustration skills.
-Prepare graphic elements and layout for web, print and motion (video).
-Animate simple graphics.
-Design pieces such as an animated logo, business card, online portfolio layout comps and a graphic resume.

This is a hands-on class where you’ll “learn by doing”. So, you’ll need the latest version of the Adobe Creative Cloud installed on your personal laptop.

If you don’t have your own computer and/or would simply like to rent one, we have available several Apple iMac workstations with all the necessary software. Reservations ($20 per day) can be made upon registering for the course.
